How to uninstall Dev-C++ on Windows
This record covers Embarcadero Dev-C++ 6.3, installed through Embarcadero.Dev-C++ with machine scope. Back up the data folders below when retaining local data or settings.
Close the app
Close the app window and tray entry, then check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for devcpp.exe.

| Location | Action |

Remove with the vendor uninstaller
Find the app in Settings › Apps › Installed apps and uninstall it. For the measured winget installation, you can also run the command below.
winget uninstall --id Embarcadero.Dev-C++ --exact
Check the result
Get-Process -Name 'devcpp' -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id Embarcadero.Dev-C++ --exact
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Embarcadero\Dev-Cpp"
No process output means no matching process was observed. A completed winget query with no match means the package is no longer listed; an error does not prove removal. Test-Path returns True if the data folder remains and False if that path is absent. True is expected when retaining data.
What Mole lists
The new review selects the Embarcadero\Dev-Cpp program folder. The devcpp.ico file previously left by the vendor was removed with that folder, and a native readback confirmed both were absent. %APPDATA%\Embarcadero\Dev-Cpp is unchecked and shortcuts are selected. The Embarcadero publisher root is not treated as this app’s own folder.
What this test covered
Removal used NSIS.
Recorded in source tests and retests on Windows 11 ARM64 on 2026-10-03 and 2026-10-04. The released download, account sign-in, synced data and other installation channels were not verified. Delayed external-uninstall controls are sampled separately.
