How to uninstall Dandanplay on Windows
Dandanplay installs its program into your roaming profile at %APPDATA%\弹弹play, and this test found no separate data folder, so whatever the player keeps next to its program goes with the uninstall. Your videos stay wherever you keep them, and danmaku and your account live on dandanplay's servers. If you rely on any local setting or play history, note it before you remove the app. This guide covers dandanplay installed machine-wide with the official x64 installer, the one the Kaedei.Dandanplay winget package uses.
Quit dandanplay first
Stop playback and close the window. Check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any dandanplay.exe still listed before you uninstall. It added no startup entry in this test.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find 弹弹play, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id Kaedei.Dandanplay
A machine-wide install asks for administrator access.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%APPDATA%\弹弹play |
The program, and anything the player keeps beside it | Removed with the app; the uninstaller may leave files behind |
Start Menu 弹弹play folder (all users) and the public Desktop shortcut |
Shortcuts | Removed by the uninstaller |
%ProgramData%\Caphyon\Advanced Installer |
An empty folder from the installer framework dandanplay's setup is built with | Empty; it belongs to that framework rather than to dandanplay, and leaving it is harmless |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process dandanplay -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id Kaedei.Dandanplay
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\弹弹play"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone;Truemeans files remain there. Once the app no longer appears in Settings › Apps, you can remove that folder yourself.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same files.
What Mole lists
For dandanplay installed machine-wide:
- The program folder
%APPDATA%\弹弹playgoes with the app row. The Start Menu folder, the public Desktop shortcut and a row grouping Windows' own records of when you opened the program are selected by default. - The empty
%ProgramData%\Caphyon\Advanced Installerfolder is not listed.
What this test covered
Tested on September 27, 2026 with dandanplay 18.1.3, the x64 Advanced Installer package from the winget manifest, machine scope. Its uninstaller ran silently and removed the shortcuts; the program folder was still there when Mole's step ran, so Mole moved it to the Recycle Bin. Every listed row was ticked and removed in this test. Not verified: a signed-in account, and which settings or history the player stores beside its program.
