How to uninstall CrystalDiskMark on Windows
CrystalDiskMark keeps almost nothing on your PC besides the program: a tiny settings folder with your last test choices. If you want to keep past results, save them from the app's File menu or take a screenshot before you remove it. This guide covers CrystalDiskMark installed machine-wide from the official installer, the same file the CrystalDewWorld.CrystalDiskMark winget package uses.
Quit CrystalDiskMark first
Stop any running test and close the window. CrystalDiskMark asks for administrator access when it starts, so it runs elevated; check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any DiskMark process still listed before you uninstall.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find CrystalDiskMark, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id CrystalDewWorld.CrystalDiskMark
Because it is installed for all users, Windows asks for administrator approval before the uninstaller runs.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%ProgramFiles%\CrystalDiskMark9 |
Program files | The uninstaller removes it |
%APPDATA%\CrystalDiskMark |
Your last test settings | Safe to remove |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process DiskMark* -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id CrystalDewWorld.CrystalDiskMark
Test-Path "$env:ProgramFiles\CrystalDiskMark9"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\CrystalDiskMark"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the app is no longer registered; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone. Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\CrystalDiskMark"returningTruemeans the small settings folder is still there; it holds nothing you need and can be removed.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses; it does not touch %APPDATA%\CrystalDiskMark.
What Mole lists
For CrystalDiskMark installed machine-wide:
- The program folder, the Start Menu folder, the desktop shortcut and a row grouping Windows' own records of when you opened the program are selected by default.
%APPDATA%\CrystalDiskMarkis listed but not selected.
What this test covered
Tested on September 28, 2026 with CrystalDiskMark 9.0.3 installed machine-wide from the official installer on an ARM64 test VM. The app was opened once and no benchmark was run. Every listed row was ticked and removed in this test.
