How to uninstall ComfyUI Desktop on Windows

This record covers Comfy Desktop 1.1.6, installed through Comfy.ComfyUI-Desktop with user scope. Back up the data folders below when retaining local data or settings.

Close the app

Close the app window and tray entry, then check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for Comfy Desktop.exe.

Data and settings

Remove with the vendor uninstaller

Find the app in Settings › Apps › Installed apps and uninstall it. For the measured winget installation, you can also run the command below.

winget uninstall --id Comfy.ComfyUI-Desktop --exact

Check the result

No process output means no matching process was observed. A completed winget query with no match means the package is no longer listed; an error does not prove removal. Test-Path returns True if the data folder remains and False if that path is absent. True is expected when retaining data.

What Mole lists

The program folder, shortcuts and app-owned updater folder after removal are selected. %APPDATA%\Comfy Desktop and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Comfy-Desktop are unchecked; measured disk caches and logs are separate selected rows. The run stopped at initial setup without configuring models or projects, so it does not establish cleanup behavior for other model locations.

What this test covered

Removal used NSIS.

Recorded in source tests and retests on Windows 11 ARM64 on 2026-10-03 and 2026-10-04. The released download, account sign-in, synced data and other installation channels were not verified. Delayed external-uninstall controls are sampled separately.

The external-uninstall delayed retake retained %LOCALAPPDATA%\comfyui-desktop-2-updater; current source Clean did not list this internal updater directory. That detection gap remains pending, so external uninstall is not complete cleanup.
