How to uninstall Cloudflare WARP on Windows
Turn the WARP connection off before you remove the app. Cloudflare WARP, now called Cloudflare One Client in its window and Start Menu, keeps no documents of yours on disk, but if your organization enrolled this PC in Cloudflare Zero Trust, uninstalling does not remove the device from that organization. This guide covers Cloudflare WARP installed machine-wide from the Cloudflare.Warp winget package, a Windows Installer package that also sets up a background service. Cloudflare: Uninstall the client
Disconnect and quit
Click the WARP icon in the notification area, turn the connection off, then quit the client. The tunnel itself runs in the warp-svc service, which the uninstaller stops; in Mole's Startup list it shows as a Cloudflare One Client service next to the client's sign-in entry. Check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for Cloudflare One Client or warp-svc before you uninstall.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Cloudflare One Client, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id Cloudflare.Warp
It is a machine-wide Windows Installer package, so Windows asks for administrator access. The uninstaller removes the program, the service and its startup entry.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Cloudflare |
WARP-GUI.log and ipc.log, the client's logs |
Safe to remove |
HKCU\Software\com.cloudflare\Cloudflare One Client |
Client settings, with a WinSparkle key for its update checks |
Safe to remove if you are not reinstalling |
HKCU\Software\Classes\AppUserModelId\Cloudflare.CloudflareOne.WARP |
How Windows shows the client's notifications | Small; remove it together with the settings key if you want |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process "Cloudflare One Client", warp-svc -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Get-Service -DisplayName "Cloudflare*" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id Cloudflare.Warp
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Cloudflare"
Test-Path "HKCU:\Software\com.cloudflare"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - If
Get-Servicesucceeds without suppressed errors, no output means the service is gone; a listed service means the uninstall did not finish. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone. - The first
Test-PathreturningTruemeans the log folder is still there;Falsemeans it is gone. - The second
Test-PathreturningTruemeans the client's settings key is still there;Falsemeans it is gone.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same Windows Installer removal Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files and service; it does not touch %LOCALAPPDATA%\Cloudflare or the keys under HKCU\Software\com.cloudflare.
Account and organization
Uninstalling does not end a WARP+ subscription and does not revoke this device from a Cloudflare Zero Trust organization. An administrator of that organization removes the device from its list.
What Mole lists
For Cloudflare WARP installed machine-wide from winget:
- The Start Menu shortcut in the
Cloudflare WARPfolder is selected by default; in this test the uninstaller had already deleted it. - The two log files in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Cloudflareand the keys underHKCU\Software\com.cloudflareare not listed. Check them after the uninstall and remove them yourself if you want a clean start.
What this test covered
Tested on September 28, 2026 with Cloudflare One Client 26.7.1376.0 installed through winget, machine scope, and removed with its Windows Installer uninstaller. No Zero Trust enrollment or account was set up, and the connection was not used.
