How to uninstall Clash Verge Rev on Windows
If Clash Verge Rev has System Proxy or TUN Mode turned on, turn both off inside the app before you uninstall it. Otherwise Windows can be left pointing traffic at a proxy that no longer exists, and you would need to turn it off by hand afterward in Settings › Network & internet › Proxy. This guide covers Clash Verge Rev installed machine-wide from the ClashVergeRev.ClashVergeRev winget package.
Turn off System Proxy and TUN Mode, then quit
Open Clash Verge Rev, turn off System Proxy and TUN Mode if either is on, then quit the app from its tray icon. Check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for Clash Verge or verge-mihomo processes before you uninstall.
If you enabled Service Mode, its background service keeps running independently of the app window; the uninstaller removes it as part of removing the app.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Clash Verge Rev, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id ClashVergeRev.ClashVergeRev
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%LOCALAPPDATA%\io.github.clash-verge-rev.clash-verge-rev |
App cache and local state | Safe to remove after quitting |
%APPDATA%\io.github.clash-verge-rev.clash-verge-rev |
Your subscriptions, profiles and rules | Back this up first if you want the same setup after reinstalling |
%ProgramData%\clash-verge-service |
Files for the optional background service | Removed together with the app when the service was installed |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process "Clash Verge","verge-mihomo" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id ClashVergeRev.ClashVergeRev
Test-Path "$env:ProgramFiles\Clash Verge"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\io.github.clash-verge-rev.clash-verge-rev"
Get-NetIPConfiguration | Select-Object InterfaceAlias, IPv4DefaultGateway
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone;Truemeans files remain there. Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\io.github.clash-verge-rev.clash-verge-rev"returningTruemeans your subscriptions and rules are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself.- If the internet stops working right after uninstalling, check Settings › Network & internet › Proxy: a leftover "Use a proxy server" entry is a Windows setting Clash Verge Rev's own uninstaller does not touch, and turning it off there fixes it.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same NSIS uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files and shortcuts, and the background service when it was installed; it does not touch your subscriptions and rules on its own.
What Mole lists
For Clash Verge Rev installed machine-wide from winget:
- The program folder, the Desktop shortcut and the Start Menu shortcut are selected by default.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\io.github.clash-verge-rev.clash-verge-rev,%APPDATA%\io.github.clash-verge-rev.clash-verge-revand%ProgramData%\clash-verge-serviceare listed but not selected.- Firewall rules that still name the core executable are only reported, never removed, since Mole does not manage firewall rules.
What this test covered
Tested with Clash Verge Rev 2.5.5 installed through winget, machine-wide scope. Service Mode was not installed during the test, so the service's own leftovers were not exercised. Not verified: TUN mode, or restoring a Windows proxy setting left on after removal.
