How to uninstall Bandicam on Windows
Before removing Bandicam, check the output folder set in Bandicam and copy the recordings you want to keep, then play a copy. Keep your registration email and license key if you plan to reinstall. This guide covers Bandicam 27.0.7.2687 installed machine-wide through winget, not Bandizip or other Bandisoft products.
Quit and uninstall Bandicam
Stop any recording and exit Bandicam, then use Ctrl+Shift+Esc to check Task Manager for a remaining bdcam.exe. The test showed no startup entry. Open Settings › Apps › Installed apps, select Bandicam and choose Uninstall; Windows 10 calls this page Apps & features. The test ran the NSIS uninstaller silently (uninstall.exe /S), so the prompts of the interactive window were not recorded.
For a winget installation:
winget uninstall --id BandicamCompany.Bandicam --exact
winget runs the vendor's uninstaller. It does not move your recordings or deactivate a license.
Locations observed in testing
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%ProgramFiles%\Bandicam |
The tested installation | Run the uninstaller first; check for surviving files afterward |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Bandicam Company |
Bandicam's local data, about 10 MB in this run | Review and back up anything you want before removing |
%APPDATA%\Bandicam Company |
Bandicam's roaming data, nearly empty in this run | Keep if reinstalling, otherwise back up before removing |
HKCU\Software\BANDISOFT and HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BANDISOFT |
Bandisoft vendor keys, still present after uninstalling | Leave the parent keys; Bandizip uses the same vendor name. The test did not read their subkeys |
HKCU\Software\Classes\.bfix |
A file extension key | Leave it |
These are measured locations, not a list of where your recordings are saved.
Check the result
winget list --id BandicamCompany.Bandicam --exact
Test-Path -LiteralPath "$env:ProgramFiles\Bandicam" -ErrorAction Stop
Test-Path -LiteralPath "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Bandicam Company" -ErrorAction Stop
Test-Path -LiteralPath "$env:APPDATA\Bandicam Company" -ErrorAction Stop
A winget row means the package is still listed; empty output or a source error alone does not prove removal, so also check Installed apps. For each Test-Path, True means that folder exists, while False without an error means it does not. An access error leaves the result unknown. None of these commands checks your copied recordings.
What Mole lists
With Remove data and settings with apps off, the test's rows are:
- The install folder, selected with the Application row.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Bandicam Companyand%APPDATA%\Bandicam Company, each listed but not selected.- The Bandicam Start Menu folder and the Bandicam shortcut on the public desktop, selected by default.
- The
bandicamandBANDICAM.bfixkeys underHKCU\Software\Classes, selected by default. - Usage records for the Bandicam program path, selected by default.
Select all and Also remove data include the listed data rows. If the data-default preference is enabled, eligible app-owned AppData rows may start selected; registry keys do not. Files Mole removes go to the Recycle Bin, and registry entries are exported to a .reg backup before removal.
All listed rows were selected in the test. Mole removed the usage records and both Bandicam Company folders; the install folder, the shortcuts and the two Classes keys were already absent after the vendor uninstaller. Mole does not list the BANDISOFT keys or the .bfix extension key.
What this test covered
