How to uninstall Arc on Windows
This guide covers Arc 1.124.1.3 installed from The Browser Company's official ARM64 MSIX package for the current user. Arc keeps its browser profile inside its app package data, which Windows deletes together with the app, so sync or export the bookmarks, passwords and sessions you need before uninstalling; this test did not sign in or create browser data.
Quit and uninstall
Close every Arc window and check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for remaining Arc.exe processes. No startup entry was registered in this test. Then uninstall Arc from Settings › Apps › Installed apps; as a Store-style package it is removed for the current user without a UAC prompt.
Check the result
Get-AppxPackage TheBrowserCompany.Arc
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Packages\TheBrowserCompany.Arc_ttt1ap7aakyb4"
Get-Process Arc -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
No output from the first and last lines and False from the second mean the package, its data and its processes are gone. A permission or query error leaves the result unverified. In this test one current-user removal left no package, no package data and no Arc process.
What Mole lists
| Location | Item | Default |
|---|---|---|
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\TheBrowserCompany.Arc_ttt1ap7aakyb4 |
Package data, removed with the app | Goes with the app row |
Removing the current-user MSIX removed the package registration, package data and processes. Package firewall declarations were only reported. This was the official ARM64 MSIX; sign-in, sync and removal of a used profile were not tested.
These defaults assume Remove data and settings with apps is off. Explicit Select all or Also remove user data can include the listed personal-data rows. Check the selection before confirming. Selected files that Mole removes go to the Recycle Bin; selected registry entries are backed up before removal. The vendor uninstaller has its own deletion behavior.
What this test covered
Recorded on 2026-10-11: Arc, version 1.124.1.3, per-user, MSIX. The evidence comes from an ARM64 Windows test environment and a development build of Mole. It does not certify the current downloadable package or removal of real signed-in accounts, synchronized data or production projects.
Vendor documentation. The paths and removal results above are observations from the Windows test unless explicitly attributed to the vendor.
