How to uninstall Google Antigravity on Windows
Antigravity is Google's AI coding editor. Save open project work the way you would in any editor, and decide what to do with your agent conversations before you start: Antigravity keeps them in %USERPROFILE%\.gemini\antigravity, inside the .gemini folder that Google's Gemini CLI also uses, and neither the uninstaller nor Mole touches it. This guide covers Antigravity installed per-user from the Google.Antigravity winget package, and keeps your project folders untouched.
Quit Antigravity first
Save your files and close every Antigravity window. It runs several Antigravity.exe processes plus a language_server.exe helper for the agent, so check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) that none of them is still listed before you uninstall. In this test it added no startup entry.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Antigravity, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id Google.Antigravity
The uninstaller removes the program files in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\antigravity and the shortcuts. It does not remove %APPDATA%\Antigravity, the downloaded updates or anything under .gemini.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%APPDATA%\Antigravity |
Settings, editor state and caches | Back it up if you might reinstall; remove it for a clean start |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Antigravity-updater |
Downloaded update installers | Safe to remove |
%USERPROFILE%\.gemini\antigravity |
Agent conversations and other Antigravity state | Back it up or remove it yourself, once you have checked what it holds |
%USERPROFILE%\.gemini outside antigravity |
Gemini CLI's own settings and history, if you use it | Not Antigravity's; leave it alone |
Remove only the antigravity folder inside .gemini, never .gemini as a whole, unless you are sure you do not use Gemini CLI on this PC.
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process Antigravity, language_server -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id Google.Antigravity
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Programs\antigravity"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Antigravity"
Test-Path "$env:USERPROFILE\.gemini\antigravity"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. A listed process means something is still open. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone;Truemeans files remain there. Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Antigravity"returningTruemeans your settings and caches are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself.Test-Path "$env:USERPROFILE\.gemini\antigravity"returningTruemeans your conversations are still on disk. That is expected after any uninstall; back the folder up or remove it yourself.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files; it does not touch %APPDATA%\Antigravity or .gemini on its own.
Account and subscription
Uninstalling does not sign you out of your Google account or cancel a paid Google AI plan. Manage those in your Google account.
What Mole lists
For Antigravity installed per-user from winget:
- The program folder goes with the app row. The Start Menu and desktop shortcuts are selected by default.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Antigravity-updater, which holds only downloaded update installers, is selected by default.%APPDATA%\Antigravityis listed but not selected, since it holds your settings. The caches inside it (Cache,Code Cache,GPUCache, the Dawn shader caches andlogs) are listed on their own and selected by default.- The
antigravity://link registration the uninstaller leaves behind, and a row grouping Windows' own records of when you opened the program, are selected by default; the link is backed up to a.regfile before removal. %USERPROFILE%\.geminiand theantigravityfolder in it are never listed, because Gemini CLI shares that folder.
What this test covered
Tested on 2026-09-29 with Antigravity 2.17.0, the arm64 installer from the winget package, per-user scope, installed from an elevated session. The uninstaller is NSIS and ran silently. Every listed row was ticked and removed in this test, and %USERPROFILE%\.gemini stayed, as described above. Not verified: signing in, agent conversations with real content, and Gemini CLI on the same PC.
