How to uninstall Another Redis Desktop Manager on Windows
Write down the Redis connections you will need again, with their host, port, password and SSH settings, before removing Another Redis Desktop Manager: the app keeps them in its own data folder, while the databases themselves live on their servers and are not touched by an uninstall. This guide covers the app installed per-user from the qishibo.AnotherRedisDesktopManager winget package.
Quit the app first
Disconnect from your Redis servers and close the window. The app runs several helper processes, so check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any Another Redis Desktop Manager.exe still listed before you uninstall. It adds no startup entry.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Another Redis Desktop Manager, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id qishibo.AnotherRedisDesktopManager
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Another Redis Desktop Manager |
Program files | Removed by the uninstaller; remove what remains once it has finished |
%APPDATA%\another-redis-desktop-manager |
Saved connections, settings, and the app's own caches | Keep it if you might reinstall and want your connections back; remove it for a clean start |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\another-redis-desktop-manager-updater |
Downloaded update installers | Safe to remove |
| Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts | Shortcuts to the app | Remove |
SSH private keys you pointed the app at stay wherever you keep them; they are not part of this uninstall.
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process "Another Redis Desktop Manager" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id qishibo.AnotherRedisDesktopManager
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Programs\Another Redis Desktop Manager"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\another-redis-desktop-manager"
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\another-redis-desktop-manager-updater"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone;Truemeans files remain there. - The second returning
Truemeans your saved connections and settings are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself. - The third returning
Truemeans downloaded updates are still there; nothing in it is needed.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files; it does not touch %APPDATA%\another-redis-desktop-manager or the updater folder.
What Mole lists
For Another Redis Desktop Manager installed per-user from winget:
- The program folder goes with the app row. The Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts and a row grouping Windows' own records of when you opened the program are selected by default.
%APPDATA%\another-redis-desktop-manageris listed but not selected, since it holds your saved connections. The caches inside it (Code Cache,GPUCache) are listed on their own and selected.%LOCALAPPDATA%\another-redis-desktop-manager-updater, which holds only downloaded installers, is selected by default.- Remote Redis data and SSH key files are never part of the list.
What this test covered
Tested on September 28, 2026 with Another Redis Desktop Manager 1.7.4 installed through winget, per-user scope. Its NSIS uninstaller ran silently without a prompt, and the program folder was still there when Mole's step ran, so Mole moved it to the Recycle Bin. Every listed row was ticked and removed in this test. Not verified: restoring saved connections after a reinstall.
