How to uninstall AirDroid on Windows
Files you transferred with AirDroid stay wherever they were saved, and removing the Windows app does not remove this PC from your AirDroid account; sign out in the app first if you want it gone from your device list. The app keeps its settings and caches in two data folders, one per user and one for all users. This guide covers AirDroid installed machine-wide from the AirDroid.AirDroid winget package.
Quit AirDroid first
Sign out if you want this PC removed from your account, then exit AirDroid from its tray icon. It added no startup entry in this test; check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any AirDroid.exe still listed.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find AirDroid, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id AirDroid.AirDroid
This is a machine-wide install, so Windows asks for administrator access. The uninstaller removes the program folder, %ProgramData%\AirDroid and the Start Menu and public desktop shortcuts.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%ProgramFiles(x86)%\AirDroid |
Program files | Removed by the uninstaller |
%ProgramData%\AirDroid |
Data shared by all users | Removed by the uninstaller in this test |
%APPDATA%\AirDroid |
Per-user settings, with a Cache and a logs folder |
Keep it if you will reinstall; otherwise remove it |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Temp\AirDroid |
An empty temporary folder | Safe to remove; Mole's Clean handles temporary files |
Check the result
Get-Process AirDroid -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id AirDroid.AirDroid
Test-Path "${env:ProgramFiles(x86)}\AirDroid"
Test-Path "$env:ProgramData\AirDroid"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\AirDroid"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone. Test-Pathon the program folder or%ProgramData%\AirDroidreturningFalsemeans that folder is gone.Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\AirDroid"returningTruemeans your per-user settings are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses; it does not touch %APPDATA%\AirDroid.
Account and subscription
Uninstalling does not cancel an AirDroid Premium subscription or delete your account.
What Mole lists
For AirDroid installed machine-wide from winget:
- The program folder, the Start Menu and public desktop shortcuts, and a row grouping Windows' own records of when you opened the program are selected by default.
%ProgramData%\AirDroidand%APPDATA%\AirDroidare listed but not selected, since they hold settings.- The
Cacheandlogsfolders inside%APPDATA%\AirDroidare listed on their own and selected by default.
What this test covered
