# Uninstall Epic, Battle.net, and League of Legends on Mac

> Separate games, saves, and launcher data before removing Epic, Battle.net, or League of Legends, with verified Mac steps and clear limits.

Before removing Epic Games Launcher, Battle.net, or League of Legends from a Mac, decide whether the games are going too. Keep a checked copy of wanted local saves, note each installation location, and remove unwanted games before their launcher wherever the vendor provides that route.

## Separate Games, Saves, and Launcher Data

Epic's [save-file warning](https://www.epicgames.com/help/c-32735058/c-36403860/a11822150) says uninstalling a game without Cloud saves can remove saves inside its installation location. Check support for each game rather than treating a signed-in launcher as proof that progress is recoverable.

| Item | What to establish first | Keep until checked |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Installed game | Its actual installation location | Wanted saves and any irreplaceable local files |
| Launcher app | Which vendor's Mac instructions apply | Account access needed for a reinstall |
| Launcher data | Whether another installed product uses it | Shared files whose ownership is unclear |
| Cloud saves | Whether this game supports them and has current progress | An independent copy of wanted local saves |

Synchronization is not an independent backup. Before uninstalling, open an important game, note the expected progress, and copy any local save identified by that game's documentation to a separate location. There is no universal save folder for this whole list.

## Remove Epic Games in the Launcher First

Epic's [game removal instructions](https://www.epicgames.com/help/c-32735058/a12795838) distinguish the legacy launcher from its Preview. In the legacy version, open the library, find the title, use its three-dot menu and choose the uninstall action, then confirm. In Preview, open the library from the top bar and open the game before using its three-dot menu.

Remove one unwanted game first, then check its recorded installation location. If you want to retain installed games, stop before following the full launcher reinstall procedure: Epic warns that this procedure removes installed games.

After the game decision, follow Epic's [Mac launcher removal steps](https://www.epicgames.com/help/c-34254770/c-37371353/a14954929): quit the launcher, check Activity Monitor for associated processes, then move the launcher app from Applications to the Trash.

For a full reinstall, Epic also asks you to check these locations for launcher-specific files. These are inspection roots, not five folders to delete wholesale:

```text
~/Library/Application Support
~/Library/Caches
~/Library/Preferences
~/Library/Logs
~/Library/Cookies
```

Inspect the exact launcher items before moving anything. Preserve unrelated files and shared Epic or Unreal Engine data you still need. The [Epic Games Launcher guide](https://mole.fit/tested-apps/epic-games-launcher) distinguishes recorded launcher leftovers from game storage that was not tested.

## Follow Blizzard's Mac Instructions for Battle.net

Start with Blizzard's official [game-uninstall page](https://us.support.blizzard.com/en/article/30333) and [Battle.net removal page](https://us.support.blizzard.com/en/article/30304), selecting the Mac instructions when available. Decide which games to remove while the launcher is still present, recording their locations and retaining wanted local saves first.

Those support pages require signing in to Blizzard, so this guide does not reproduce unverified Battle.net menus, preference filenames, or a blanket Blizzard-folder deletion list. If you cannot read the Mac steps either, stop before deleting support folders and ask Blizzard for the current procedure.

Do not substitute a Windows uninstaller path or assume removing the launcher also removes each game. Check the recorded game locations after the vendor's procedure, and keep data for any Blizzard game you intend to continue using.

## Remove League of Legends Before Shared Riot Data

Riot's [current Mac troubleshooting steps](https://support.riotgames.com/en-us/riot/performance/uninstall-and-reinstall-games) say to fully close both League of Legends and Riot Client, open Finder, and move League of Legends from Applications to the Trash. They then describe emptying the Trash, restarting, and reinstalling to test a crash.

For deliberate removal, pause before permanently emptying anything and check your retained local files. A troubleshooting reinstall is a different goal from deleting every Riot-related item.

Riot's [older Mac reinstall guide](https://support.riotgames.com/en-us/league-of-legends/client/reinstalling-league-of-legends) also names `/Users/Shared/Riot Games`. Inspect that shared folder before considering removal, particularly if other accounts or Riot installations use this Mac. The newer Mac sequence does not list that extra deletion.

The older page places League configuration inside the app at `Contents/LOL/Config`. If you want to keep a configuration copy, do so before removing the app; do not treat that folder as a universal save archive. Neither page supplies a separate, verified Mac procedure for erasing every Riot Client file, so this guide does not invent one.

## Check the Result Before Permanent Deletion

Apple's [Trash instructions](https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/delete-files-and-folders-on-mac-mchlp1093/mac) explain restoring an item before permanent removal. Keep the removed items there while checking; recovery from the Trash is possible only while the items remain, and putting an app back does not recreate a game already removed by its uninstaller.

For a reinstall, use the vendor download and confirm that wanted games, account access, and expected progress work before discarding retained copies. For permanent removal, check each recorded game location and only then evaluate remaining space.

If an app is still running, resolve that before removing more data. The [background-process guide](https://mole.fit/blog/app-still-running-after-uninstall-mac) covers that case, while [reviewing uninstall leftovers](https://mole.fit/blog/mac-uninstall-leftovers-review-before-delete) explains how to inspect an uncertain item. For Steam, use the separate [Steam removal guide](https://mole.fit/blog/how-to-uninstall-steam-mac).

## Where Mole Fits

Mole Mac has an Epic-specific uninstall review entry for `~/Library/Services/UnrealEditorServices.app`. Treat it as a review decision, particularly while keeping Unreal Engine; an unchecked row is left for your review, and selecting it later does not preserve its contents.

The recorded Epic uninstall test did not install games, and the Battle.net and Riot Client installation checks did not establish complete uninstall coverage. Do not use those records as evidence that Mole preserves every game or save; make the game and backup decisions before reviewing launcher leftovers.

## FAQ

### Will Removing Epic Games Launcher Keep My Games?

Do not assume so: Epic's full launcher reinstall instructions warn that installed games are removed. Check saves and decide what to retain before starting that procedure.

### Can I Delete Every Blizzard or Riot Folder?

No blanket deletion is justified here. Read the vendor's Mac procedure, check shared ownership, and preserve wanted game data; the two Riot pages also differ in their treatment of the shared folder.

### Will Signing Back In Restore Every Save?

Do not rely on sign-in alone. Verify the individual game's cloud-save support and current progress, and keep a separate copy of wanted local saves before uninstalling.
